Eset won the site that used to house the former army hospital in Bratislava’s Patrónka district in a state-run auction. The software giant wants to build its headquarters at the location, which would accommodate 1,400 staff and include a sports stadium, rental apartments and a restaurant alongside office space. No winner was selected in the first three rounds of a tender that the Slovak government launched last year. In the third round, Forespo Reality 10 offered the highest bid (€24m), which was the only decisive criterion in the tender. However, the state department decided to cancel the tender after Eset said it was willing to match the highest bid and launched a new competition through an auction. Eset won the auction with a bid of €26.2m. The results of the auction will be confirmed in 15 days.
