That’s just the one of the proposals that are to be discussed during the upcoming EU summit and a component of a broader plan to introduce a fiscal union across Europe. If approved, the regulations could could give Brussels a level of authority equivalent to that of member country finance ministers. Scheduled for Thursday, the summit is to be held in the context of increasing concerns over the EU’s future.
