Following numerous claims of mismanagement and corruption, the European Commission said it will cut funding for development projects in the Czech Republic by €1bn. Sanctions will be imposed on four operational programs, according to the online news server Aktuálně.cz, citing unofficial information. Financing for transport and environment projects will be cut by CZK 20bn, while the “Northwest” program will lose CZK 3.4bn, according to the server. The country’s “Entrepreneurship and Innovation” program will also lose CZK 2bn. The cuts amount to CZK 25.4bn (€1bn).
