HICP inflation in the eurozone was 10.6% y/y in October this year, compared to 9.9% y/y inflation a month earlier, the EU’s statistical office Eurostat announced, presenting the final data.
In October, energy made the largest contribution to the eurozone’s annual inflation rate (+4.44 percentage points), followed by food, alcohol and tobacco (+2.74 percentage points), services (+1.82 percentage points) and non-energy industrial goods (+1.62 percentage points).
The market consensus was 10.7% y/y.
For the EU as a whole, inflation was 11.5% y/y in October, compared to 10.9% a month earlier.
