In December 2020, the seasonally adjusted industrial production fell by 1.6 percent in the euro area and by 1.2 percent in the European Union, compared with November 2020, according to estimates from Eurostat. In November 2020, industrial production grew by 2.6 percent in the euro area and by 2.3 percent in the European Union. In December 2020 compared with December2019, industrial production decreased by 0.8 percent in the euro area and by 0.4 percent in the European Union. The annual average industrial production for the year 2020, compared with 2019, fell by 8.7 percent in the euro area and by 8.0 percent in the European Union, informed Eurostat.
