Eurostat: Retail sales in Poland rose 2.4% y/y in January

Seasonally adjusted retail sales in Poland recorded a 2.4% y/y increase in January 2023, the EU’s statistical office Eurostat reported.

On a monthly basis, retail sales in Poland rose 1.2%.

For the European Union as a whole, retail sales rose 0.3% on a monthly basis and fell 2.2% y/y.

Eurostat: Eurozone retail sales rose 0.3% m/m in January. Seasonally adjusted retail sales in the eurozone rose by 0.3% m/m in January 2023, the EU’s statistics office Eurostat reported.

The market consensus for the eurozone was 0.8% growth on a monthly basis.

Across the European Union, retail sales also fell by 0.3% on a monthly basis.

Eurostat said that on an annual basis, retail sales in the eurozone fell by 2.3% and declined by 2.2% in the EU as a whole.

The market consensus for the eurozone was a 2% annualized decline.
