Eurozone economy up 0.3% in Q3

17 November 2015

The eurozone’s economy was up 0.3 percent in the third quarter, according to recent figures published by Eurostat. While the German economy showed “moderate growth” during the three-month period, France did better than expected. Both countries reported growth of 0.3 percent, but while Germany’s growth in Q3 was down from the 0.4 percent posted in Q2, France improved upon zero growth seen the previous quarter, thanks to an increase in household spending and the production of goods and services. The German federal statistics office said foreign trade “had a downward effect on growth because the increase in imports was markedly larger than that of exports.”
