Expanded role for space agency requires expanded office in Prague

12 October 2020

The Czech state is looking for new office space for the European space agency GSA to accommodate the expansion of the organization. At the moment, 200 employees work at its headquarters in Prague 7, which it moved into in 2012, but the broadening of the organization will require up to 600 employees. GSA has been running the European Union’s Galileo global navigation satellite system and expanding its market. Under the planned reorganization, the Prague headquarters will also run the EU’s Copernicus program which monitors the Earth from space to document changes to its land, water and air. The data is crucial for the agricultural sector as well as branches of the economy.
