Marek Falenta, one of the most influential investors on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, confirmed this week that he is planning to sell his holding in Hawe. The news follows accusations that Falenta was involved in illegally recording conversations between Polish politicians and businessmen. “All of the recent events have had a substantial impact on all of the companies in my portfolio. This regards Hawe in particular. This is why I made the decision to exit the business I’ve been building for so many years, in an attempt to neutralize any negative effects it’s now facing,” Falenta wrote in a statement. The investor has already started talking with potential buyers. “I expect to close negotiations at the end of this month,” he said.
Polish media are speculating that the list of potential buyers includes only three candidates, though no names have been disclosed.
