Faurecia is selling its manufacturing plant in Hlohovec, Slovakia, where the French company produces fenders for cars. Another French automotive manufacturer, Plastic Omnium, will be taking over the plant. The acquisition is part of a larger transaction in which Faurecia is selling its external car parts business to Plastic Omnium. The €665m deal includes 22 plants in Germany, France, Spain, Slovakia and in the Americas. In Slovakia, Faurecia operates six manufacturing plants and a service center in Bratislava, but the deal with Plastic Omnium only includes the Hlohovec plant. The French producer of plastic car parts already has three plants in Slovakia in Lozorno and Trnava and has been operating and expanding a major R&D center there since 2005.
