Fene Grup, owned by former Minister of Transport Relu Fenechiu and his brother, has been renamed Engineering and General Constructing (Engeko SA). Shareholders hope the new name will give the company, managed by Cristian Ghibu, a new visual identity as officials prepare to put the company up for sale. The construction company posted a turnover of about €10m in 2013.
The Fenechiu brothers were sentenced to five years in prison in January for complicity in the abuse of power. Relu Fenechiu was the minister of transport until July 2013. He was in office for just seven months.
