The residential developer Finep did just fine in 2020, as it saw the number of flats sold for the year in the Czech Republic increase by one-third to 900. If its sales in Slovakia and in Mongolia are included in the total, the figure increases to more than 1,200. The company’s director Tomas Pardubicky says the decision to expand into rental projects as well as cooperatives has made residential property more affordable to a greater number of clients. “The individual investment flat segment is very strong in Prague,” he said. “Until now, however, there weren’t any investment funds that were managing a larger number of flats. Our strategy is to continue in the development of locations and to offer rental housing through these funds.” Pardubicky said the idea is to provide fully-furnished flats for people that demand a high level of quality services where they live. Pardubicky added that many customers are still looking for ways to protect their savings. “Fears of the future as a result of the pandemic are making clients realize the need to secure their long-term needs such as housing and reasonable and safe investment of financial resources,” he said.
