Five Moscow highways to see roadside improvements

Five Moscow highways are to be improved under the My Street project led by the Department of Competition. The Rublevskoe, Mozhaiskoe, Leningrad, Warsaw, and Kashirskoe highways will be upgraded covering an area of 37 ha, with work being carried out by contractors selected through four open competitions. The work will cost Moscow RUB 780m.
Press reports claim that the Rublevskoe and Mozhaiskoe highways will see improvements made not just to the road surface, but to sidewalks and to 85,000 sqm of greenery along them. Nearly 1,500 new trees and shrubs will also be planted along with the installation of benches and trash cans. The work will be completed by the Russian company Ateks FSO.
The improvement of the Leningrad highway includes lining retaining walls with sandstone tiles, planting 105,000 sqm of turf, and planting around 5,100 shrubs and trees. The Warsaw highway scheduled repairs include repairs of ramps, the installation of 3,3000 sqm of pavement, 11,600 sqm meters of asphalt, the creation of parking spaces, flowerbeds, and the planting about 1,200 shrubs and trees. Milan Story is the general contractor of the project.
Finally, Kashira Highway will also see new turf installed by MKT, along with improvements to road facilities and signage and the planting of 2,300 trees and shrubs.
