FlyNiki, the Austrian subsidiary of the German flight operator Air Berlin, is considering introducing a Bratislava route. Niki could start operating out of the city in April. The plan is currently being negotiated. APA wrote that the airline is expected to announce its final decision on Dec. 4. The low-cost air carrier recently canceled its flights from Vienna to Moscow and Copenhagen to Frankfurt. It now has planes available for flights out of Bratislava. The founder of flyNiki, Niki Lauda, had reportedly considered shifting operations to Slovakia due to the air ticket tax applied in Austria. He later sold the company to Air Berlin.
