Foreign visits to Romania up 12.6 percent in first 7 months

The number of tourists registered in Romania in the first seven months of this year, for arrivals and overnight stays, increased by 12.6 percent, compared with the same period of last year, according to the National Statistic Institute (INS).
There were 4.1 million arrivals and 10 million overnight stays.

Most of the foreign visitors came from European countries, most of them being from Hungary (33.5 percent), Bulgaria (20.2 percent), Germany (9.2 percent), Italy (7.2 percent), Poland (6 percent) and Austria (4.5 percent). Departures of Romanian visitors abroad registered at border crossings were 6.2 million, up 0.5 percent.
