The land market in Bucharest has continued to be active in the last 12 months, in terms of acquisitions by developers of real estate projects – residential complexes, industrial and retail spaces, their attention being particularly focused on former industrial platforms located inside the city, which offer easy access, according to data from the real estate consultancy Cushman & Wakefield Echinox.

The former Titan Mar platform on Șoseaua Progresul (45,000 sqm), the former Muntenia oil factory near Carol Park (57,000 sqm), the Atlas platform site in Pipera (28,500 sqm), the Helitube platform site in Colentina (89,000 sqm), are some of the largest properties transacted in the last 12 months.

Between July 2022 and June 2023, land with an area of around 60 hectares was traded in Bucharest and the surrounding area, with the largest share held by developers planning to build real estate projects with mixed functionalities – retail, office and residential, a concept that has gained ground in recent years, and by housing developers.
