Four factories worth over EUR 100 million have opened in Romania in the last five years

Four factories built from scratch following investments of over EUR 100 million have opened their doors in the last five years in Romania. In total, about 4,000 people work for these companies in the aerospace, electrical, wood or biofuel industries.

The most recent opening of a plant worth more than EUR 100 million was that of the Swiss from Clariant, announcing the official inauguration of the straw biofuel factory made in Podari, Dolj. It lasted three years from the start of construction, from the fall of 2019, to the inauguration, of which one year lasted the permits and tests of the new factory.

Other major investment projects completed in recent years were the MDF factory of the Turkish group Yildiz Entegre Romania, the washing machine and dishwasher factory in Dâmboviţa and the aluminum parts factory for aircraft of Universal Alloy Corporation Europe in Maramureş.
