Penta RE, Sekyra Group and Kaprain announce architectural competition for 4th quadrant

Fourth Quadrant, an association of Penta Real Estate, Sekyra Group and Kaprain, will announce an architectural competition for construction in the northwestern part of Vítězné náměstí in Prague 6 in September. The University of Chemical Technology (ICT), the capital and Prague 6 will take part in the competition. The winning design of the two-phase competition should be known in May 2023. The consortium of developers bought land with an area of ​​20,122 square meters, ie most of the buildable area of ​​the so-called fourth quadrant of Victory Square between Evropská and Yugoslav guerrillas, for about a billion crowns in November 2021. a multifunctional development was to be created, the development of which is expected by the developers by 2028.

The ICT sold the land to developers, with the money being raised to build a new university building with teaching facilities and facilities for students and academics, ICT Rector Pavel Matějka said last year. Thanks to the new building, the school will be able to add laboratories.

The City Hall of Prague 6 welcomes the construction in the western part of Vítězné náměstí, said Deputy Mayor Jakub Stárek (ODS) on behalf of the City Hall. The development should complete the urban concept, as designed by the architect Antonín Engel in the 1920s.

Victory Square was established in 1925 and has had several names since then, for example, from 1952 to 1990 it was called the October Revolution. However, the name Kulaťák was used among him among the people of Prague. The zoning plan of Prague has long envisaged the development of this area.
