The IT firm Foxconn is planning a new round of investment into its Czech operations following an agreement between its director Terry Gou and the Czech prime minister Bohuslav Sobotka. “The Foxconn investment that’s been agree will be in the neighborhood of CZK 2.5bn between 2015 and 2018,” said Sobotka. Miniser of industry Jan Mladek said the computer manufacturer will help the Czech Republic keep pace with the German industrial sector. Foxconn plans to open a research and design center, which would be its only such facility in Europe. It also plans to develop fully automated production which it will apply in its plants in Pardubice and in Kutna Hora.
