Prague 8’s opposition has failed in its attempt to end the company Centrum Palmovka, which is owned by the district. Set up by Prague 8 to direct the construction of its new headquarters building, the company has been criticized for failing to complete its only task. The building was due for completion in 2016, however construction work has come to a halt. A court is due to decide if the company or the district is legally the owner of the unfinished construction. Uncertainty over the ownership question led to the cessation of construction work, which is being built by Metrostav. Half of the CZK 1.1bn budgeted price tag has been paid, to date.
