The Russian gas producer Gazprom plans to open 50 filling stations in Romania this year, according to the daily Ziarul Financiar.
The first Gazprom gas station was opened in the city of Sibiu on Dec. 24. The company’s Romanian network will be managed by the Serbian NIS group, which is controlled by Gazprom.
Romania is the second country in Europe where Gazprom owns gas stations. The first Gazprom filling station in Europe opened in Serbia last year. The company wants to expand next to Bulgaria and Bosnia.
