26 July 2016

Gentherm has opened a €20m production plant in the Prilep industrial zone in southern Macedonia, creating 450 new jobs. The US company will manufacture parts for the European automotive industry at the site. Construction on the new plant started in late 2014.

“For us, the government and the entire region, it is important that Gentherm has already started hiring staff with the workforce now being over 400 people,” said Macedonian Prime Minister Emil Dimitriev at the opening ceremony. “In the next few years, 2,000 workers are expected to be employed, which is of major importance for the country, in particular for the inhabitants of Prilep and the nearby towns.”
