Hundreds of thousands of holiday bookings in Greece for the summer holidays remain active in the systems of major German tour operators, airlines and hotels. But while they haven’t been cancelled as a result of the pandemic, they can only be kept if the borders are opened and Germans are allowed to fly to Greece. All of the reservations were made prior to March 31. In fact, Greek hotel owners are using these deposits as working capital for renovation and maintenance on their hotels. They as well as tour operators are requesting that they be allowed to keep these funds.
