Giant LED advertising tower proposed for Miami

27 April 2015

Miami Big Block is proposing a 633 foot tall electronic billboard in downtown Miami called the Miami Innovation Tower. Located near the northeast corner of Northwest 10th Street and Northwest 1st Street, the tower would be visible from I-95, I-395 and most of downtown Miami. The tower would consist of four LED billboards with a total of 84,750 square feet of advertising space that would feature new ads every six seconds, 24 hours per day. If approved by the Southwest Overtown/Park West CRA, the developer would pay the CRA $3 million upon receipt of a building permit, $2 million for receipt of a temporary certificate of completion for a sign permit, and 3 percent of its annual gross revenues up to $1 million per year. A final stipulation is that 3 percent of the display advertising must be donated to public art or non-profit entities.
