25 August 2014

The Spanish automotive supplier Gonvarri Corporación Financiera plans to build a new production facility in the Triangle industrial zone near Žatec. The company said it intends to create 125 new jobs there by 2017. Construction is scheduled to start next spring and the manufacturer hopes to start testing the new unit by autumn. The sale of the 7.64 ha of land to Gonvarri Corporatión Financiera for CZK 31m has already been approved by the Ústecký region council, and regional deputies are expected to approve the deal in September.

Oldřich Bubeníček, the Ústí regional governor, told the daily Mostecký deník that the investor agreed to pay CZK 400/sqm for the land, while the entire investment is expected to have a value of 247m. The Triangle zone, which provides good access to Prague and Germany, still has 113 ha available for sale.
