Gorenje moving fridge production to Serbia

12 March 2019

Gorenje, which became part of China’s Hisense Group last year, is moving its refrigerator production unit to Valjevo, western Serbia. The new factory, which has an investment value of €4m, is expected to manufacture 150,000 fridges annually. Production should start at the beginning of April, with another large hall scheduled to open on a site that used to house the old Elind factory in October 2020. Around 1,000 people will work at the new site.
