The German insurer Gothaer Group has officially launched its Romanian branch under the name Gothaer Asigurari Reasigurari, following the completion of its takeover of a 67% stake in the Romanian insurer Platinum Asigurari Reasigurari. The price of the transaction has not been disclosed, however it is known that Gothaer is set to invest €15m through to 2017 to recruit consultants, expand the distribution network and launch new products.
The insurer aims to reach €60m in gross written premiums during this period, targeting both the retail and corporate sectors.
