The Czech government approved more than 70 measures that support economic growth in the Czech Republic, which will help increase the country’s competitive edge. Compiled in conjunction with NERV, the national economic council, lawmakers will give 18 of these measures top priority. These will include establishing a single contact point for exporters, cuts to the number of operational programs using EU funds and an audit on budget expenditures. While the measures are unacceptable to the trade unions, employers are relatively satisfied with them, according to ČTK. The measures want to make EU funds more effective and legislation clearer. They also aim to reduce administration and support innovations, education and export. Simplifying the construction law is also among lawmakers’ top priorities, as it could make construction of transport infrastructure cheaper and faster.
