Government cuts accommodation budget for politicians

In a bid to cut costs, the state will no longer pay for politicians to stay in hotels while in Bucharest, the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Valeriu Zgonea, announced. Deputies will receive a smaller accommodation stipend which will no longer cover hotel costs.

Zgonea explained accommodation expenses for members of parliament will be reduced by about 60 percent. Accommodation expenses were costing the government RON 1.3m a month.
