The Czech government greenlighted plans to launch tenders for the construction of nearly 50 km of new motorways and first-class roads. Transport Minister Antonín Prachař came up with the project, which includes eight large orders, with costs expected to total CZK 8.8bn without VAT. Two sections of the D3 motorway, the R4 high-speed road and a tunnel through the Červenohorské sedlo mountain saddle in Jeseníky are on the list. The transport ministry plans to launch the public tenders separately, with price being the key criterion.
