The FIDESZ government is trying to tighten its relationship with non-governmental organizations through the conclusion of a strategic agreement with 47 civic groups. The alleged goal is to give academic professionals a voice in the creation of new legislation affecting the civic sector. The agreement was concluded by Bence Retvari, State Secretary of the Ministry of Public, who said the government wants to ensure both the organizations and Hungarian citizens that the government and the state are not the enemy, and that they can be a partner for everyone.
