The Slovak government is planning to sell its 49-percent stake in Slovak Telekom through an initial public offering. The IPO will target retail and institutional investors in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The listing will debut on the Bratislava and London stock exchanges, the telecoms company said in a statement. Deutsche Telekom is expected to keep its 51-percent holding in the company. “The IPO will mark an important next step in our development and bring greater visibility to the value we intend to create,” said Miroslav Majoros, the chief executive of Slovak Telekom. The company has 1.16 million subscribers and is one of the largest telecom providers in Slovakia. Citigroup and JPMorgan Chase will be the IPO’s global coordinators.
