Greece’s exports dropped 10.5% in April

During April, fuel exports in Greece fell due to falling demand, but exports of food, olive oil and chemicals strengthened. Chemicals produced growth of 21.1 percent to €418.5m, while food and livestock reached €406.2m, an increase of just 0.5 percent. According to the Hellenic Statistics Authority-ELSTAT, the total value of exports in April reached €2bn, compared to €2.98bn a year earlier. When fuel is excluded from the figures, exports show a drop of 10.5 percent to €1.94bn. The total value of imports was €3.2bn, compared to €4.6bn in April 2019, a decrease of 30.5 percent.
