Greenhouse gas emissions in Poland in 2020 decreased y / y to 373 675.391 kt of CO2 equivalent according to the approximate inventory of greenhouse gases, announced Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Adam Guibourgé-Czetwertyński. In 2019, the emissions amounted to 390,744.67 kt of CO2 equivalent.
According to the data reported to the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, as well as reported as part of EU reporting, the amount of greenhouse gas emissions in Poland, without the balance of emissions and removals of greenhouse gases in the land use, land use change and forestry sectors (the so-called . LULUCF):
– in 2015, it decreased by 22 685.66 kt of CO2 equivalent compared to 2010,
– in 2020 it decreased by 17,140.49 kt of CO2 equivalent compared to 2015, “wrote Guibourgé-Czetwertyński in response to a parliamentary question.
Total domestic greenhouse gas emissions in 2019, excluding LULUCF emissions and removals, decreased by 32.6% compared to the base year (1988), he added.
Final 2020 emissions data will be available in 2022.
