The increase in the prices of building materials should gradually slow down, we can expect such a reaction in Poland at the end of Q2 2022, believes Deputy Minister of Development and Technology Piotr Uściński.
“In the opinion of the Ministry of Development and Technology, the increase in the prices of building materials should gradually slow down. It is largely determined by external factors related to the global recovery, which revealed supply-side constraints,” said Uściński in response to a parliamentary question.
The Ministry of Development and Technology expects, similarly to the International Monetary Fund, that the demand, in particular in the two major economies of the world, example; the USA, but in the context of prices of raw materials and construction materials, mainly in China, should gradually slow down. In the opinion of the ministry, the factors limiting the supply should also gradually fade away in the second half of the year.
“This should significantly slow down the increase in prices in the construction sector. In countries where construction production costs grew the fastest in 2021, prices have already dropped (e.g. Norway, Austria) or their stabilization (e.g. Lithuania). we can expect it at the end of the second quarter,” summed up the deputy minister.
