A cornerstone laying ceremony for the Gürzenich-Quartier investment in Cologne, Germany has been held. The project will be constructed on a 2,500 sqm plot opposite the historical Festsaal Gürzenich building. The new seven-storey project will comprise 11,000 sqm of office and 2,000 sqm of retail space. The builder of the Gürzenich-Quartier project is Entwicklungsgesellschaft Gürzenichquartier, a joint venture between Cologne-based Metropol Immobiliengruppe and Johann Bunte-Bauunternehmung. Some retail space has been reserved in the new project, however no leases have been signed yet. Completion of the building is expected at the end of 2015.
