Of all job losses in Q4 2020, 12.1% were lost due to the epidemic, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) reported.

In the fourth quarter of 2020, 53.9 thousand jobs were lost. This was almost 14% less than in the third quarter of 2020. It should be noted, however, that the scale of decommissioning related to the spread of COVID-19 related to over 12% of Jobs in general. Job losses took place in all size classes of units. The share of jobs lost due to the epidemic situation was higher than the average in Poland in units where up to 9 people worked. In other size classes, this share was lower. than the average in Poland .

The Central Statistical Office (GUS) announced today that the number of job vacancies amounted to 84.4 thousand. at the end of the fourth quarter of 2020 and was lower by 6.7 thousand, i.e. 7.4% than in the previous quarter. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2019, the number of job vacancies decreased by 41,000, i.e. 32.7%. At the end of the fourth quarter of 2020, 17.5 thousand were vacant. newly created jobs.

According to the Office, in the fourth quarter of 2020 there were 20% fewer new jobs than in the corresponding period of the previous year. 13.6% fewer jobs were lost than in the previous quarter and 12.1% less than in the fourth quarter of 2019.
