Consumer inflation was 10.8% year-on-year in July 2023, according to preliminary data, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) said. Compared to the previous month, the prices of consumer goods and services fell by 0.2%, GUS also reported.
Prices of consumer goods and services according to the quick estimate in July 2023, compared to the same month last year, increased by 10.8% (price index 110.8), and compared to the previous month, decreased by 0.2% (price index 99.8), GUS reported.
The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 15.6% y-o-y, energy carriers rose by 16.7%, fuels for private means of transport fell by 15.5%, GUS stated.
On a monthly basis, prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages fell by 1.2% m/m, energy carriers were unchanged and fuels for private means of transport increased by 0.4%.
The market consensus was: 10.9% y/y and -0.1% m/m.
