Retail sales increased by 3.3 percent in October compared with the same period last year, according to the Polish statistical office GUS. The figure, however, failed to match market estimates, with analysts predicting an increase of 3.7 percent. According to the GUS report, retail sales were also up by 3.1 percent in August compared with the same period last year.
According to the Polish Labor Ministry, the unemployment rate increased in October by 0.1 percent, up from 13.4 percent reported in September.
