The total stock of industrial and logistics spaces in Romania reached 5.2 million sqm at the end of 2020, and almost half of this stock is located in the industrial parks built near Bucharest. The same proportion is maintained also for this year’s deliveries, according to the real estate consulting company Avison Young. In addition, new players are expected to enter the market.
Almost 400,000 sqm of new warehouses will be delivered this year near Bucharest, followed by Timișoara with 125,000 sqm, Craiova, with over 74,000 sqm and Bacău with 31,000 sqm. “The complete rehabilitation of the Bucharest Belt Road will make the areas in the East and South more attractive, and the construction of the outer belt (A0) will expand the industrial area around Bucharest,” say Avison Young experts who estimate new deposits will exceed the threshold of 8 million sqm in the next five years.
