Hankook expands in Hungary

23 October 2012

South Korea’s largest tire maker will set up a new production hall in Hungary, which will considerably increase the efficiency of the facility in Rácalmás. The cost of the investment is over €8.7m and it’s been made possibly by co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund in the framework of the Economic Development Operational Program of the Hungarian government. According to the plan, production could get underway in the first half of 2013. The Rácalmás plant has been operating at full capacity since October last year, with its 2,200 employees. The company produces around 34,000 tires a day, which are supplied primarily to leading European automobile manufacturers as Original Equipments (OE).
