Orlando based Hard Rock International has announced plans to build its second hotel and casino in the Dominican Republic. The new project, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Santo Domingo, will contain 400 rooms, a casino, screening room and a nightclub opening up to the main pool. Other features will include two bars a race and sports book, high limit slots, 400 slot machines and 40 table games. Hard Rock International operates 212 venues in 69 countries, including 162 cafes, 23 hotels and 11 casinos. The project is earmarked for completion in late 2017.
“The Dominican Republic is the region’s most-visited country and continues to be the top performing destination in the Caribbean,” said Nelson Parker, vice president of casino development for Hard Rock International in a press release. “The decision to bring a full-service hotel and the brand’s second Caribbean casino to the Dominican Republic is a testament to the country’s remarkable strength in tourism.”
