HB Index: Prague residential prices up 53% in ten years

Market prices for residential real estate and land rose again in 2019, with the biggest jump during the third quarter taking place in apartments. There, they rose 7.9 percent to 151.4 points on the HB Index, which was set at 100 ten years ago on January 1, 2010. That means flat prices have risen 51 percent in the last decade, numbers that break down to a 53 percent rise in Prague and just 33 percent in Brno. The Czech Press Agency reports that residential inflation has been the slowest in in Usti nad Labem, where prices have gone up just 20 percent since 2010. Family homes in the Czech Republic rose 8.7 percent from Q3 2018 to Q3 2019 to 140.4 points on the HB Index, which is based on market information from loans provided by Hypotecní banka.
