HB Reavis begins its second investment in Germany – PLTFRM.Berlin

29 August 2022

PLTFRM.Berlin is a project named after the nearby Ostbahnhof railway station. The investment is to be completed at the beginning of 2025 and will offer approx. 27,000 sqm gross leasable area.

Following the success of their first property in Germany, DSTRCT.Berlin, HB Reavis chose a location in the eastern part of the city. As a building that is intended to be carbon neutral, the PLTFRM.Berlin will have a positive effect on the well-being of not only the people working in it, but also the local residents.

Thanks to its unique solutions, PLTFRM.Berlin will be an inspiring workplace. To ensure carbon-neutral operation of the facility, solutions based on renewable energy were used, including photovoltaic panels on the roof and facade of the building or heat pumps: ground, plumbing and air-to-water.

Compared to traditional buildings, the above systems will provide three times greater savings in energy consumption obtained externally for supplying hot water, heating, ventilation and air conditioning. As the building will not use gas, all electricity from the grid will come from green sources.

The facility will also be friendly to cyclists – from the large bicycle parking lot, employees and guests will get directly to the changing rooms equipped with showers, and from there to the lobby. PLTFRM.Berlin offers a lot of space for greenery and biophilic design solutions on six floors, balconies and roof terraces. In addition, tenants will be able to use responsibly selected retail, service and food outlets.

Future tenants will find easy-to-arrange office spaces with open entrance areas for informal meetings. PLTFRM.Berlin will also offer a wide range of innovative solutions – incl. Symbiosa’s workspace data analysis platform and More services. The building’s design is supposed to foster social interaction and innovation, and inspire through art – our internal team of Origameo office consultants supervised the whole thing.

In line with the ambitious assumptions of the ESG strategy, HB Reavis designs according to the highest standards of sustainable development and well-being: Net Zero Carbon in operation (based on the LEED zero and DGNB climate positive certification systems), LEED Platinum, LEED ZERO, DGNB Platinum, DGNB Climate Positive , WELL Platinum and WIRED Score Platinum.
