Head of Allianz in Poland steps down

Paweł Dangel, the chief executive of Allianz Polska, one the country’s biggest insurers, announced he is leaving the company. He plans to stay on until a replacement can be found. According to the daily Puls Biznesu, Dangel announced the decision to the company’s management team last month. Allianz spokesperson Beat Wójcik confirmed the departure, telling the daily: “Paweł Dangel has already informed us about his decision, which is expected to take effect within several months, when his replacement will be selected.”
Dangel has led Allianz since 1997. In 2010, Allianz set up its lending arm, Allianz Bank. The investment has had a negative impact on its performance in 2010 and 2011. Allianz posted PLN 200m loss in 2010.
