Almost double the investment in insulation, extensive repairs and brand new projects. The third largest provider of rental housing in Europe, the Swedish company Heimstaden, is fulfilling last year’s promise it made when entering the domestic market. He immediately reinvests the maximum of his profit into his flats.
Last year, 200 million for thermal insulation, this year almost 350. This is one of the key ways for Heimstaden to reduce energy consumption and CO2 production. “We are a company that pays great attention to long-term sustainability and environmental protection. We try to think about it in everything we do. Last year alone, we insulated 1,100 flats, this year it will be more than fifteen hundred, “says Heimstaden CEO Jan Rafaj, adding:” In 2020, we managed to reduce CO2 emissions by more than 1,750 tons per year, and this year it is we will reduce it by a total of 2,800 tons. ”This corresponds to energy savings of up to 35 percent in insulated buildings.
In 2021, projects that change entire neighborhoods will continue. One of the most important is the complete reconstruction of houses in Kunčičky, which were previously excluded localities. This year, another 3 houses with 26 apartments will be completed. The total investment in houses and the immediate vicinity will reach up to 370 million crowns, and Kunčičky will offer 300 completely renovated flats over the next 3 to 4 years.
Already last year, Heimstaden started building lofts. In Ostrava-Poruba, 38 new flats with 2 + kk and 3 + kk layouts were built. The investment amounted to 56 million crowns. The project of attic installations will continue in 2021.
In 2020, the revitalization of common areas in Šumbark, which the existing apartment buildings underwent, began. There were a total of 39 entrances. He-imstaden will continue this year with an investment of 31 million crowns. In addition, housing adapted to the needs of the elderly is being created here. The apartment building on Opleta-lově Street will be barrier-free, will have non-stop dispatching and security, and will offer its residents a wide range of services. The investment is planned at 44 million crowns.
Heimstaden will continue major repairs this year. For example, they will spend CZK 76 million on roof reconstruction. Approximately CZK 94 million will be invested in heat, gas and connections.
