Finnish fast food chain Hesburger is planning to open nine restaurants around Bulgaria this year, with the first batch expected to come on-line within the next few weeks, according to local media reports. Many of the locations previously operated under the Burger King brand. New Hesburger restaurants are scheduled to open in Sliven, Plovdiv and in the Sunny Beach resort on the Black Sea. Hesburger intends to invest up to €7m in Bulgaria this year and around €35m over the next 10 years as it opens 50 new restaurants around the country. The chain operates in nine European countries and has more than 450 restaurants. Its 2017 revenue was more than €304m.
