The highest average salaries in the Balkan region are being paid in Slovenia and Croatia, while the lowest are found in Macedonia, Albania and Serbia, according to Anadolu Agency (AA) which cites the latest official statistics. The average monthly net salary in Slovenia is €1,108, making it the only place in the region where the figure exceeds €1,000. In fact, it puts Slovenian wages at nearly double the national averages of every other country in the region, save Croatia. Croatians take home €873 per month, according to official data of the Central Bureau of Statistics, while Montenegro comes next (€511).
According to the BiH Agency for Statistics, the average net monthly salary in the second quarter of 2019 was €469, €638 lower than in Slovenia. Data from the Albanian Institute of Statistics show that the average net salary in that country is €423. The latest statistics from the North Macedonian Bureau of Statistics list the average salary in June this year at €409.
