CIJ has learned that Hilton Worldwide has signed a franchise agreement to develop its sixth Hampton by Hilton project in Poland this year. The new hotel is set to go up in the city of Oświęcim, 300 metres from the city’s old town, with Property Partner Investment having been selected to develop the project by the second half of 2018. Hilton has announced several new projects in Poland this year, including in Lublin, Gdańsk, Warsaw, Poznań and Kalisz. This new investment will be the first Hampton by Hilton in Oświęcim.
“Ten percent of all new projects we have agreed in Continental Europe over the last two years have been in Poland. This is a testament of the growing strength of our brands and the willingness of local partners to seek further opportunities to work with us, having seen the performance of our existing portfolio,” said Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice-president, development, EMEA, Hilton Worldwide.
