The Chinese-Slovenian company Hisense – Gorenje has announced that it will be closing its factories across Europe in reaction to the widening health crisis. It writes that “Although rigorous preventive measures are rigorously applied at the company and at all factories, and despite the fact that there are sufficient protective equipment and sufficient materials to continue production at the factories, this additional preventative measure will be implemented to help the company stop the epidemic and further protect the health of all employees.” Company management and union officials agreed to resume production on April 6, assuming that governmental restrictions on doing so have been removed.
